Scrap
Resource mainly used for researching items into blueprints at workbenches or going down the tech tree, which allows for targeting certain items you want to acquire. It's also a type of currency, used for trading various items at the Scientist Outpost and the Bandit Camp. As such, Scrap is very valuable and essential at any point in the game.
Tip ·Used to research items at a Research Table and to unlock blueprints at a Workbench. Drops from crates, recycler output, and looting players.

Crafting
Scrap cannot be crafted — it drops as loot, comes from a research blueprint, or is found at monuments.
Recycling
Rust has two recycler types. Monument recyclers are faster and yield 60%, but you can be attacked. Safe-zone recyclers in Outpost and Bandit yield 40% and take longer, but turrets protect you.
