Cookie Policy
Last updated: April 28, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Rustalytics ("Rustalytics", "we", "us", "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on rustalytics.com and our related services. It complements our Privacy Policy.
Short version
We use a small number of strictly necessary first-party cookies to keep you signed in, remember your cookie consent, and complete payments. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels for ad networks, or third-party analytics that profile you across the web.
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store on your device. The next time you visit the same site, your browser sends the cookie back so the site can recognise your session, remember your settings, and so on. Similar technologies — local storage, session storage, web beacons — work the same way for legal purposes; we treat them all as "cookies" in this policy.
Cookies set by us when you visit rustalytics.com are first-party cookies. Cookies set by services we embed (for example, Stripe Checkout) are third-party cookies and are governed by those services' own privacy and cookie notices.
Cookies we set
| Name | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| cookies | Remembers that you accepted the cookie banner so we don't show it again. | Strictly necessary | Persistent (long-lived) |
| steamID | Stores your public Steam profile (Steam64 ID, display name, avatar URL) after you sign in with Steam, so the site knows who you are and can show you the right dashboard. | Strictly necessary | 7 days |
| rustalyticsId | Your Rustalytics account identifier, used to load your settings, subscription status, and notifications. | Strictly necessary | 7 days |
| download | Set after a successful purchase to show you the desktop-app download step on return to the site. | Functional | Short-lived |
We may also use short-lived session cookies set by SvelteKit (the framework that runs the site) for routing and CSRF protection. These are strictly necessary and expire when you close your browser.
Third-party cookies
The following third parties may set cookies when you interact with their features:
- Stripe — when you check out, Stripe's hosted page sets cookies needed to complete your payment securely and to detect fraud. See stripe.com/cookie-settings.
- Steam — when you sign in via Steam OpenID, Steam's login page is hosted by Valve and may set its own cookies. See Steam's privacy notice.
- Discord — if you click a link to invite or use the Discord bot, Discord may set cookies. See discord.com/privacy.
We don't currently embed any third-party advertising or behavioural-tracking cookies on rustalytics.com.
How to control cookies
You can clear or block cookies in your browser at any time. The strictly necessary cookies above are required for the site to work — if you block them, you won't be able to sign in, pay, or use the dashboard.
Browser-specific instructions:
Most browsers also offer a Do Not Track setting. There is still no consensus on how sites should react to it, so we currently ignore the signal — but we don't track you across other websites either way.
Updates to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when we change the cookies we use or for legal reasons. The "Last updated" date at the top will always reflect the current version.
